Well, how 'bout grits. They are great, especially on a cold morning with some buttered toast and big cup of hot chocolate. Yum! Now this is making me hungry. Field peas with snaps sounds great with some Carey Hilliards sweet tea! Oh yeah!
What about our colloquiallisms - or "southernisms". Like - "fixin' to" or "might could" or "that dog don't hunt." Stuff that can identify your origin regardless of accent :) Also, for the record Billy Currington only performed the song "Good Directions" it was co-written by Luke Bryan and Rachel Thibodeau. Gotta give credit where credit is due! Southern lyrics speak to the heart.
black eyed peas and cornbread or butter beans and cornbread yum yum!!!!
but the question is sweet cornbread or traditional
sweet for me lol
Sweet-tea.....Chick-fila has some good sweet tea. Field peas, purple hulls or just butter beans with corn bread or biscuts...um...I'm gettin hungry just talkin about it and turnip greans and red tomatoes with salt and pepper. Some good ole southern eaten.
sweet taters, cat-head biscuits, red eye gravy, pecan pie, nascar, deer hunting, a fish fry party, turkey shoots, and casting up and down the creek looking for the holes where you can catch 3 or 4 redbreast on the same cricket.
red eye gravy, fried cornbread cakes, hoe cakes, rice and tomatoes, pecan pie---husband's southern thoughts...nascar,deer hunting, standing around a fire barrel on a cold night with a few budweisers and good friends
