Buddy Carter was the first to jump into the pool — and now it’s getting crowded.
There are three candidates who have filed their candidacy for Georgia’s U.S. House 1st District seat, currently held by U.S. Senate hopeful Jack Kingston, with Dr. Bob Johnson the latest to jump into the water. Johnson is scheduled to hold a campaign kickoff Saturday in Savannah’s Johnson Square.
The Friends of Bob Johnson filed their statement of organization with the Federal Elections Commission on Tuesday. Dr. Johnson filed his candidacy last month with the FEC.
He joins David Schwarz, a former Kingston staffer who made his splash into the candidate waters last month, as challengers to Carter for the seat.
The primary is still a long way away.
