It won’t be long before you can watch an Effingham County commission meeting from the comfort of your own seat at home.

Temporary county administrator Toss Allen told commissioners at their meeting Tuesday night that their next meeting will be recorded on video. The plan is to have it available to watch on the county’s Web site — www.effinghamcounty.org — soon after the meeting.

“One way or the other, it will happen,” Allen said.

The county commissioners had kicked around the idea of a live stream of their meetings, and the idea of using a government channel on YouTube was broached. In the end, a video that oould be downloaded or watched from the county’s own Web site appears to be the end result.

County commission meetings long have had their audio recorded.
