It's time for kickoff

I can’t believe high school football season is finally here. It seems like it has been a long time — and it’s been about a month — since practice started. I don’t think the players miss the two-a-days and three-a-days that were a part of preseason camps. I think the coaches might miss them a little and for us, it was fun. You could catch one team in the morning and the other later in the day and you could talk with the coaches during the down time between sessions.

The early start of the school year has wiped that out.

I really don’t know what to expect this year. Last year, I knew Effingham could be a playoff team and that people shouldn’t go to sleep on South Effingham — they had a chance, especially on offense, to be lethal.

This year, each team still has a fairly tough schedule and their non-region games are particularly tough.

It will be interesting, and you can follow along on Twitter or Facebook for nearly every game.
