Those of us in the Coastal Empire may get a chance to hear what the several Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate have to say next week.

The Georgia Republican Party, in conjunction with local GOP groups, will present its fifth debate among the GOP Senate hopefuls March 29 at 6 p.m. at Savannah Arts Academy, 500 Washington Ave. in Savannah. That’s the old Savannah High School for those who have been around a little longer.

Tim Bryant will be the moderator.

The Effingham Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates’ forum April 29 at 7 p.m. at the Effingham College and Career Academy. The races covered in the forum will be for county commission and board of education.
