If you are a busy entrepreneur or business owner, finding time to get quality workouts in can be a daily challenge. However, your health should be your priority, making this a critical task to dedicate time to. If you are struggling to find enough time to dedicate to fitness, these strategies can help.

Stick to Your Dedicated Work Hours

If you have the ability to set your own hours, make sure they are reasonable. This means that they should not take away from your personal time. Likewise, don’t give yourself too little time to work. Doing this can interrupt your entire daily schedule, including your time for fitness. Management Today found that many business owners put themselves second and their business first. However, you should always be your first priority. Adapting this mindset will help you function at your best in and outside of the workplace. If you feel like you are working too much, look for ways to lessen your workload by outsourcing things like financial work. There are various solutions to help with bookkeeping for small business that you can use.

Bring Fitness Into Your Workplace

If you have a large office space, why not make fitness a part of your daily work routine? This strategy is a great way to sneak exercises in during your downtime, breaks or even during or after lunchtime. The Huffington Post mentions that exercising at work doesn't need to equate to sweat and heavy breathing. Try simple toning moves such as ab twists, leg lifts and stair climbing in moderate amounts to avoid messing up your work clothes. Even if you don't feel like you are putting in a lot of effort, squeezing in a little more movement throughout your day is better for your health and physique then sitting for prolonged periods of time. Another option worth considering is investing in equipment made for the workplace. Floating desks with a treadmill situated below, sitting on a yoga ball instead of an office chair and portable foot pedals are all great ways to burn calories without sacrificing productivity.

Exercise in the Morning

Working out first thing in the morning is a simple way to ensure that you got your daily exercise in without interrupting your work schedule. As an added bonus, following this strategy will provide you with long lasting energy for the rest of your day. However, you do not need to work out on an empty stomach to get major results. In fact, Fitness Magazine found that eating a small amount of food before hitting the gym was actually more beneficial than going on an empty stomach. When you exercise first thing in the morning, you cannot rely on work based excuses later on for missing a workout.

Put it in Your Planner

Whether you use pen and paper or an app for planning out your work week, you should always include your workouts. This strategy will help you remain accountable for your fitness goals and can also serve as a reminder to exercise if you forget to make time for your workout. This is also a great way to keep track of your progress and see how often you have worked out later on. In addition to this, fitness tracking apps may also be a useful tool in your quest to reach your goals.

Business owners often get carried away by seemingly never ending tasks in their workplace. This makes it especially challenging for them to find time to get fit. However, it is important to keep in mind that consistency is key when it comes to weight loss and toning. Put these strategies to the test and remember to maintain your fitness routines for the best results possible.
