Traveling with kids, whether by car or by plane, can be stressful as a parent. In addition to figuring out napping schedules and activities to keep them entertained, you must also keep a healthy inventory of snacks on hand. After all, most kids and even teens live on snacks and fill up on them a few times per day. While it might seem difficult to pull together travel snacks, there are actually many options. Find some of the most simple snacks below.
Foods To Prepare:
1. Tortilla Roll-Ups
To make this, simply take a tortilla and layer it with your child's favorite lunch meat. Roll it up, place a toothpick in the middle, and place it in a bag to take anywhere. If you're looking for something sweeter, you can layer peanut butter and granola and on the tortilla instead.
2. Celery Sticks
Fill freshly washed celery sticks with either peanut butter or your choice of cream cheese. Place in plastic bag and pass out for a healthy snack.
3. Peanut Butter Balls
Cereal balls are easy to make and can be filling as well. To make a simple version, mix 2 cups brown rice cereal with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and enough peanut/nut butter to stick it all together. Then, roll into small balls and place into a plastic zipper bag.
4. Mini Muffins
Mix 1 cup whole wheat flour with 6 tablespoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. Once combined, add in 1 egg, 1/2 cup blueberry yogurt, 3 tbsp canola oil, 2 tbsp milk, and 1/2 cup frozen blueberries. Pour into mini muffin trays and cook in a 350-degree oven for 20 minutes.
5. Smoothie Ice Cubes
If you are traveling by car and want something nutritious for your little ones, you can make smoothie ice cubes that will melt over a few hours. To make these, simply blend frozen fruit with almond milk and a little bit of spinach or kale. Pour smoothie into ice cube trays, freeze, and once frozen, place a few cubes into a water bottle to melt.

Preparing for Your Trip
It can be easy to forget the details of travel, especially when you're bogged down with everyday tasks, such as getting home insurance quotes or paying bills. The first tip: no matter what your method of travel is, you must bring plastic utensils with you. Additionally, napkins and baby wipes are excellent for helping with cleanup. If you have a particularly messy child, then disposable bibs are great to have with you as well.

If you're traveling by plane, it's important to remember that no fluids or gels can be over 3.4 fluid ounces. However, baby food is often an exception. If you're looking for the easiest way to keep things cold, then it's recommended to freeze individual food items before flying out.
- By Car
When you're driving by car, bring a cooler that will help keep your food nice and cold. This will also help prevent food from melting if you stop at a rest stop or hotel for an extended length of time.
